Which sofa colour

Driving myself nuts with indecisiveness. We have decorated our living room a very pale greige colour, with the chimney breast being a dark navy. We are also going to have a navy wingback armchair and other navy accents. The curtains are pale grey.

I was intent on a dark grey sofa, mainly as we have 2 grotty DC and I like red wine so felt a dark colour was best. (Don’t want navy sofa though) but I am really taken with a pale greige colour sofa I’ve seen.

I think it will look nice with the colour scheme but is it all a bit too pale with the contrast of the navy? And bad idea spill wise (although has machine washable covers)

Would the dark grey clash a bit with the other colours or be too dark?

Genuinely no idea what to do now. Please someone tell me!

If you really like the pale greige sofa, you could maybe chuck a navy or dark grey throw over it until the DC are more civilised less messy.

I have throws on my 'nice' sofas, and they will remain until I no longer have a dog. The feral DC have now grown up so I don't need to worry about them.

Could you post a pic, so we can visualise the colour scheme better. It sounds lovely, btw.

(There will be a beam above the fireplace) the sofa is to go against the wall opposite the fireplace

Also (when pics upload) I may change the skirtings just around the chimney breasts to match the navy, rather than keep them white. What do you think?

The paint is a bit more grey than it looks in these pics btw.
and the navy isn’t so dark

It's really nice, both the colours of the walls and the sofa.

I think I'd keep the skirtings on the navy feature wall white if it was me.

Thanks. Which sofa though, the beige or the grey?

Blue skirting around chimney. Beige sofa.

I’d go for a rich burnt orange velvet (sorry for picking option c!)

Hopping on to also suggest this!!

We too are going down rabbit holes picking sofa colours, wall colours, curtains etc 😫

Any reasons you are going with material rather than leather which is much easier to clean/wipe off? We've always had leather, but currently renovating and have a material sofa- never again! I'd personally avoid more grey. I'm far from 'on trend' but grey was already going out of fashion when we started renovating 4yrs ago so I've avoided it.

I'd go beige or a darker colour and brighten with oranges/yellows throws/cushions, which are opposite navy on the colour wheel.

I also think leather for the sofa maybe more practical. Although the orange velvet suggestion sounds lovely.

I’d be interested in seeming a picture of the wingback armchair if you don’t mind sharing?
