Has anyone had a fitted wardrobe installed recently? How much was it?

I’m looking at getting a ceiling to floor double wardrobe fitted in my son’s bedroom. Just a basic double wardrobe.

Ive had quotes from joiners between the £1200 and £1600 mark.

Just wondered if it’s cheaper to go to a bedroom furniture type place - Wren, Sharps etc.

Has anyone done this recently that wouldn’t mind sharing how much they paid?

Thank you

I had 3 doubles fitted by a family member who is a cabinet maker. He charged 1800 for this. I do get 'mates rates' but 1600 for 1 double seems high. If youre in the NW pm me

In 2021 (appreciate this is five years ago!) we paid to have the exterior materials on our existing, two double fitted wardrobes replaced. This included (with the labour):
4 new doors
Cornice, end panel, infill and plinth
New hinges
The total cost was £966.00. We are based 30 miles outside London.

We went to Hammonds and paid over £4k for our alcove fitted wardrobes that are floor to ceiling, this consists of 2 doubles and 1 single all in a row. The design service was brilliant, but installation very poor that involved 3 return visits. In fairness, it's all very good quality and is standing up to wear well.
