Glass pendants in hallway - yay or nay?

I need 2 lights for the hallway in my new flat. I’d like 1 small and simple pendant and 1 pendant that’s more of a feature. Everything seems to be clear glass at the moment - I’m unsure as to whether it will be too bright and glare-y? I know you can get interesting warm bulbs though. Help!

What are the measurements of the hallway?
Do you have a picture of the pendant(s) you're considering?
Not sure why there will be two different ones ... ?

@ShrubRose Thanks for responding. 2 different lights because one will be over a stairwell so a bit more height and want to make it more of a feature. The other will be smaller as ceiling is not so high there. It’s not a massive hallway and it doesn’t get a lot of natural light. Will post pics of what I’m currently considering. Cheers.

the more decorative light is gorgeous. If they can’t really be seen at the same time it’ll be fine. If they are close together I’d say not. It’s hard to say without seeing your hallway

I love the one on the left. So classic.

Not sure about the one on the right - the style doesn't seem to coordinate all that well with the lantern.

There's a more elaborate lantern at Visual Comfort - eye wateringly-expensive, but I think it would look very good with your pendant. Maybe another supplier has something comparable ... ?

I like those pendant type lights for a hallway. Probably would go for matching ones though.

I think clear glass in the hallway is fine because it’s not somewhere you have to sit and look at it iyswim (unlike say bedroom or living room).

Jim Lawrence has a lot of nice glass pendants

a site that has some coloured shades, if that was what you wanted?

Thanks, everyone. Some nice ideas/options have been suggested - sadly, I don’t have a massive budget! Maybe a lantern that is more angled, to tie in more with the angles on the statement light?

If the Connie pendant is the one you want, how about asking someone at Pooky to help select something that would coordinate - ?

Thanks @ShrubRose - might do that.
