Mattress toppers

I get awful hip pains at night. Think it's mattress. Can't afford a new mattress and thinking of a topper. Any good ones out there ?

Have you tried turning or flipping your mattress over?

TBH, I'd have thought that the cost to get a decent topper, you'd be better off saving for a mattress. Especially as you are getting pain! As a temporary solution, I'd use a duvet on the bed till you find something.

MIL used to have a tempur one which seemed pretty good- expensive though. The others have good reviews, but I have no personal experience I'm afraid.

I’ve put one on my newish Emma mattress that was way too firm for me. I got a Silentnight Deep Sleep topper from argos for about £25 and I’m pretty sure it was the 2.5cm one as I’d just bought new fitted sheets for the mattress and didn’t want to get deeper ones to accommodate a deeper topper.
It works really well for me.

I used a duvet folded double for a while beforehand, which was ok too.

I got a memory foam topper last year and it's been wonderful. Definitely improved my achey shoulder. I couldn't be doing with an entirely memory foam mattress, the topper is just enough.

I’d get a free referral to physio from NHS if I were you. Hip pain is often biomechanical. So your feet, shoes, gait and weight all need looking at.
