Sofa recommendations please

I'm looking for recommendations for new sofas for sitting room in Georgian conversion and fallen down the rabbit hole of too many websites

The toom is currently magnolia with brown carpet and curtains and 2 x 3 seater ancient M&S sofas from our previous property that are lost in our large bay fronted room.

We have Dc9 and 6 month old kitten to consider so I'm after durable and comfortable.

Am I mad to think about yellow or green velvet sofas, one large chaise and one 4 seater?

Budget isn't ridiculous - can spend up to 4k but would love a bargain

Bargain sofas tend to be uncomfortable, ime.
My advice is go to an independent furniture shop and try the Parker Knolls and G Plan.
Maybe spend more on your main sofa that will get most use, and less on the others?
Also, don't be tempted by a light coloured fabric, pets and kids mean it will look good for approx 2 weeks, then it's all downhill.

Try Arlo & Jacob. British-made and you can pair any fabric with any sofa. We got two sofas last year in green chenille. It's more forgiving than velvet as it has some texture. We don't have kids but do have a kitten. We try to keep her from scratching the sofa but she inevitably does and she hasn't pulled any threads so far.
