Where to look a for a quality wooden bed?

Looking for a new bed. Quite picky so want wooden, a headboard that is comfy to sit up and read, solid wood (no veneers), would like some storage (but not lift up the mattress style) I prefer no footboard (but husband prefers with a footboard).

But where to look away from the main manufactures?

We have always used Taurus Beds, who are London based but I believe they do deliver outside Home Counties. They are reasonably priced for what they offer, in my opinion, and we’ve found everything very durable. You can get under-bed drawers.

We got ours from Get Laid Beds. The designs are really customisable. 7 years on and I still love my bed.

Revival beds are amazing. Made in the Midlands. I’ve had mine 15 years and I still love it. I would definitely recommend them.

Revival Beds. Mine is excellent quality and you can pick the wood stain as well as design. They are made in Nottingham.

I like upholstery, softer and warmer, so not sure on wood. Have you tried Brandalley? Harrison Spinks? Barker and Stonehouse?

I have had a wooden bed. However good the quality it's never comfortable to sit up and read. Unless you are short I prefer no footboard because you end up with your feet against it.

I have a couple from Revival Beds, and they are BEAUTIFUL! You pick the design that you like, and then you can choose pine/oak and the woodstain. Thankfully, they deliver far and wide, and came all the way to Wales with mine!

OMG OP, you are looking for the exact unicorn that I am! I'm can't help but am reading the suggestions on the thread.

I’ve gone for a get laid beds one. Kensington in sapele with curved legs. We got 2 half sized storage boxes but could have gone with the 3/4 and still have a bedside table.

Very happy with it.
