Recommend me some bedroom lampshades

As in style, colour is not too important at this stage.

We recently redecorated the bedroom and I disposed of the old paper balloon lampshades. We have a lightbulb right above the bed. I’m torn between getting another balloon / enclosed lampshade which gathers dust or getting a traditional drum lampshade which means I will be staring at the lightbulb every time I’m in bed.

By coincidence or by great shared style taste, DH looked at that exact lampshade about 5 mins ago.

How do you clean it? I normally put the vacuum nozzle up and around the inside of the lampshade.

I, too, prefer not seeing bare lightbulbs. But my overhead bedroom light is over the bottom of my bed so I can’t see the bulb. Could that work, either by moving the ceiling rose or some set up like this? Then you can pick a lampshade you love (that said, I am a fan of paper balloon shades myself!)

Sadly I won’t be moving the light as we’ve just had the decorator in and they painted the ceiling just a few weeks ago. I’m too tight/broke to get the electrician in and then the decorator back.

Mind is open at the top like a normal shade so I stand on the bed and stick the hand held hoover in - easy peasy!
