Furniture shops in London

I’m in the very early stages of buying a flat and am a bit too excited about planning furnishing etc (I’m not a FTB but this is a first move after splitting from ex DP, so first time buying in this position!). I’ve already done a lot of online searching but would love to go and look at furniture (mainly beds and sofas etc) for inspiration and am wondering where to go? I don’t mean ikea, more like how I used to know I could go to Tottenham Court Road and be in and out of Heals, Habitat, west elm etc and get excited about all the ideas (even if out of my price range).
is this still a good area to visit? I also really want to look at cabin beds (kids beds with desks etc) in real life, any idea where I could see this kind of thing? I’m child free tomorrow and based in London so I’m thinking central-ish and reachable on public transport!

Heals, sofa workshop etc are still on that patch of Tottenham Court Road. Not sure about kids stuff though

As above then John Lewis Oxford Street (I know you said not Ikea but there is a small one where Top Shop used to be). There’s a new Loaf near Angel.

thank you! I know I could have just checked google maps 😜 but when you see the name of a shop you don’t necessarily know what lines they carry. I think I’ll probably head there and have a look anyway, and I love a long browse around John Lewis! I noticed on google maps there is a benson for beds on TCR and online they have the high sleeper beds so would like to have a look just in case they have any there (unlikely but you never know). Oh and @Ithinkofawittyusernamethenforgetiti have nothing against ikea! Just don’t want to make a trip out to one of the large branches (as there isn’t one that’s easy to get to from where I am without a car) and less likely to find what I’m hankering for in the mini ones!

Haha I didn’t think you did, just that you didn’t need on this trip - thought worth mentioning there’s a fairly new one between JL and TCR, it’s compact but handy!
