Headboard single bed that’s not a divan

I’ve found some lovely headboards but I don’t have a Susan. I’ve got a platform very basic black framed metal bed which is the same height all along it. I’d like to have a headboard but wondering if I buy one that’s designed for a divan with the “prong “ bits and I’ve nothing to slide it onto , how will I fit it ? Any wise ideas ?

Could you attach one to the wall instead of the bed?

This is my latest thought. But what to attach it with is my problem. It looks easy on interior design programmes. I need that chap from Stacey Solomon programme. He’s ace. Rob!

Rob is great but I am sure there are enough people on here who can help you work out how to do it. What are the walls made of? Are they brick or stone or plaster board?

@Geneticsbunnyits an outside brick wall so pretty sturdy

OK. So you need rawl plugs and screws and some picture hanging plates like these

www.amazon.co.uk/Picture-Hanging-Plates-Mirror-Bracket/dp/B09Q1CDHWP/ref=asc_df_B09Q1CDHWP?tag=bingshoppinga-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80264555548121&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=m&hvlocint=121304&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583864026354063&psc=1&msclkid=8873f6e9488e1c073b1c9f674ca53e3a
Depending on what the headboard is made of and how heavy it is you might want 6?

So you put the padding and the fabric on the headboard and then attach the picture hanging plates to the back of the board with the single holes sticking out over the edge of the board. Make sure you have some at the top and some at the bottom (and maybe one each side for good luck). Get a friend to hold the board in place while you mark where the holes are in the wall. Then move the headboard and drill the holes, hammer the rawl plugs in gently, (drill the holes slightly bigger if they won't go in easily), put the headboard in place and screw it in place and you are done. If you go slowly it might take you an hour to install it once it is made but should only be half an hour in total once you have all the bits.

I’ve actually seen nice upholstered panels too that I could fasten like this. Thanks so much
