Has anybody brought furniture from Dormy house. It is very expensive but I wanted to know if it worth the extra money has I wanted something with the painted looked that would last for ever in a children’s room and not some ikea rubbish that chips after a few months,

If you can spare the time, painting something vintage gives a much better effect for much less money, and will likely last longer.

It says it is made from MDF? I would rather buy solid wood, generally, myself. I've bought a couple of things from Tikamoon recently and those have been really lovely. But that's a slightly different look I spose. Cotswold Company looks similar style to Dormy House but made of solid wood, I think?

Oh yes @Dolorsy is right, it says Made from tough MDF

I'd buy some pre-loved wooden furniture and paint it myself. If you look on Freecycle, you'll find things like free chests of drawers and bookcases, and then you can use chalk paint.

Yes - have some in DD1’s bedroom. Never again.

Huge delay from order to delivery (much longer than the lead time on the website - we’re taking nearly 6 months). Got fobbed off by their customer service person until we threatened to take action for non delivery. They then told us they’d had some factory fire and everything had huge delays.

When furniture finally arrived one door had a huge crack in it (which any fool would have seen as it left the warehouse) but they tried to fob us off with a repair. Eventually they replaced the door.

Aside from that, it’s nice enough, but rather overpriced for what it is.
