Dining table inspiration

good evening! I really need some help choosing a dining table and really after suggestions as getting overwhelmed looking.

We would like a wooden one, and we have two small children so it needs to be easy to clean and suitable to do homework on (ie smooth). 6-8 seater. Budget - hmm
how much do these things cost? If no such table exists and it has to be hidden under a table cloth to keep clean then so be it, but ideally not! Hit me!!!

I would go with an IKEA table there are lots of wooden extendable ones and they are wipable.

I'd pop onto Facebook Marketplace.

We made ours due to the size we needed and look we wanted using planks of wood from the local timber yard, and ordered steel legs from Amazon (the hubby is handy but I think it’s doable for many if you know someone with a few tools). We sanded the planks down and then oiled them. I think it cost us a quarter of one similar in the shops. Made a bench to match too.
