Teasmaid / bedroom kettle

I have suddenly realised that having some tea making facility in my bedroom would considerably improve my mornings.

The only traditional teasmaids I can find online are very ugly. I drink herbal tea so don’t need to worry about milk, but it is loose leaf so the water absolutely has to be properly boiling.

Does anyone have a set up that they would recommend?

I can answer this one! My DH bought me a proper Goblin Teasmade a few years ago. And it was great, apart from the ear-splitting, dead-waking BEEEEEP when it was ready, which was, for some unfathomable reason, impossible to turn off.

So we gave it away, and instead bought a little travel kettle to keep on a tray in our bedroom with some mugs and teabags. It’s a perfect setup. We do have milk and so for anyone reading who is wondering, a small bottle of milk is still perfectly fresh by morning.

It is SO NICE to have a cup of tea without having to get out of bed and trogging downstairs.

Alexa kettle! Love it and you can choose the temperature and it keeps the temperature for up to an hour

I’ve got an ordinary kettle in my bedroom but I’ve also got a fridge. The fridge was in this room before I turned it into my bedroom and I fretted about how to get rid of it or where to move it. Instead I embraced it and I love it. I’ve got milk, biscuits, chocolate, water and Mounjaro in there

How odd as I was looking into these the other day.

If you so much as step on my bedroom floor, the dogs go mad downstairs and you have to get up. So I would love to be able to have a cuppa without getting out of bed on a weekend. It would seem the ultimate decadence. I saw one on Amazon, but it was pug ugly and huge. The travel kettle might be a good alternative though

If you just want boiling water, could you buy a small kettle? I have a tiny one cup one next to my bed so all I have to do in the morning is press the button to make it boil. I have black coffee so keep my coffee and mug and spoon next to my bed as well

These are style over substance. Recently stayed in a B&B which had one. So awkward filling the water jug part under the tap and not spilling it when clipping it back in. Dripping spout. Family was staying too and we all agreed they were awful and we would have much preferred the usual small kettle on a tray.
