Inspiration needed!

Looking for inspiration as I've just had a multi-fuel stove fitted (before anyone asks, yes I'm rural, it's an old house that was designed for one!) so need to paint the internal bit of it next to the stove. What colours have other people gone for? I'm guessing white will get pretty grubby pretty quickly? Hate making these sorts of decorating decisions so curious what others have gone for. Thank you!

What other colours are in the room? I’d go for a deep rich version of one of those, so a dark warm blue, aubergine, chocolate brown etc. or you could go bold with deep orange or red? It will get dirty and also cobwebby in my experience so a light colour is not great

Yes, what colours are in the rest of the room?

Rest of the room is an off white and originally the chimney was a stong blueish grey colour (denim drift). Breast will need repainting so I'm wondering about something completely different. Something like a chocolate brown or aubergine is a good shout. And good to know light colours are a bad idea!

Dark red for that warning glow? Or burgundy? The most robust paint type you can find.

I went for a burnt orange, the theory being that it was a warm color that would subconsciously make me think of fire even when the stove isn't lit.

I think something that suggests the glow of a lit stove is a good idea.

Farrow and ball green smoke is what we’ve just painted ours. Did the chimney breast in it too, walls are Lichen. Pleased with the colour as it’s dark but not overly dark.
