First, I’ve recently come across this phrase and I love it! By door furniture I mean door knobs.

Im looking for internal door knobs and I’m lost. Prices seem to range from £20 to £150 for a pair of brass round small beehive door knobs. Are the high end ones superior, or is it all in the marketing? I’ve got quite a few to get so I’d like to go cheaper if no noticeable difference.

which brands do you recommend please?

These are lovely https://www.corston.com/collections/polished-nickel-door-hardware

I’d say you get what you pay for, but also that most people won’t notice the difference.

i went with a mixture, some of these where it really mattered ( very visible, public areas) and cheaper copies (Google image search is a blessing ) for the rest, especially if you need multiples. I have a run of 8 wardrobes with Wickes copies of the Corston knobs for example

If you are really lucky. You might find a good local ironmonger who will have a huge range of stuff you can sift through. If not then Broughtons are good

It's worth spending a reasonable amount because pricier ones tend to be made of brass.

If you are literally just buying the knobs though, it probably doesn't make a huge amount of difference.

@VaseandCandle DD is an interior designer. They use Corston. Probably near the top of your price range and I wouldn’t bother in a moderately priced home, but if you want a well made stylish product range, Corston are very good. They also use Matilda Goad but not sure they do door hardware.

We have Frank Allart in part of our house, and Tyrnstyle door handles but they are expensive!
