What piece of furniture could perform this task?

Our “cupboard of doom” needs replacing. But what with? We currently have a pax double wardrobe with three fixed shelves and three full width drawers (so no hanging space) in our study and it has been brilliant over the years as you can store a whole
load of stuff in there, shut the door and it disappears. However, as the children have got older and we’ve cleared stuff out (goodbye present drawer!) we don’t need that much space so I’d like to get rid of it. But we still need some space but I cannot find anything to replace it with. I don’t want a bookcase as I don’t want open shelves. Nor do I want a display cabinet as the stuff which is still in there (various piles of paperwork, my small amount of craft bits) needs to be hidden rather than viewable through glass doors. A wardrobe would be an option except for, other than the Pax, I can’t find anything where you can just have shelves and drawers and no hanging space. In many ways, a Billy bookcase or Kallax units would fulfil the brief but we have those in pretty much every other room in the house and trying to wean overseas off IKEA furniture.
Once we find something, there’s then design. DH hates anything white or grey or shaker style. Please save me from going around in internet circles, oh great hive mind!

Ah yes! Thank you, they are exactly the sorts of things I need @OhBuggerandArseConsidering I grew up in a house with both of these, I’m not sure why I didn’t think of them myself!
