I know this isn’t the worst problem to be facing but my builders damage everything! They have been hear since March.

i have a 2 year old and a 7 month old and have had no kitchen since the summer so am constantly on edge.

latest problem is scratches to a brand new brushed nickel radiators. Quite expensive but damage is not enough to ask for a replacement. I know they will get wear and tear but it’s hard to take when they are brand new.

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for how to fix scratches in a metal radiator?

thank you for reading!

I also feel really guilty for pointing the scratches out. I’m worried I will annoy the builders and they won’t do a good job on other things. I wonder if anyone can relate.

I can totally relate.
I get annoyed every time I see the small scratch of the outside of my bathroom window that the scaffolders did with their pole when we were having the roof done.
You really should mention it in a ‘I’ve noticed a few scratches…..do you have anything you can polish them off with?’ way. If you attempt it yourself and make it worse you will be really annoyed, if they make it worse you can ask for their insurance details.

I would ask them to repair. Otherwise they will know a ‘Magic Man’ who they can pay to come and make them good.

They need to protect your furniture in the areas where they are working.

Why should you feel guilty or be afraid they would be annoyed? You are annoyed and they should feel guilty for allowing sloppy workmanship.
Try not to allow your feelings into this and treat the problem rationally. They have caused damage; this is unacceptable and they need to make good right away. Insist upon rectification and make sure the job is done correctly. Your builder will respect you more rather than less.
