What would you put and where?

I am currently decorating our sitting room. It is a Victorian house so the ceilings are tall and the room is large.

I've attached two diagrams - one with the room dimensions and one with how we currently have our furniture. The furniture is an amalgamation of stuff that we have accumulated - not anything that was chosen specifically so I'm open to having something different. The sofa is massive and a good size for the room but it almost splits the room in two so behind it is space and doesn't really serve any purpose. I've seen some lovely ideas which have two sofas facing one another but that cuts off the bay window and leaves no obvious place to have a TV (it's our main lounge room).

I'm in the process of stripping the floors which will be a warm/dark oak. The walls, skirts and dado rails will be dark green (maybe green smoke F&B). The windows, door, picture rails and above (so small section of wall and ceiling) will be white.

How would you lay out a room like this please?

What would you put and where?

I would put the big sofa facing the bay window and rather than cut off the bay put two armchairs opposite. It’s a similar feel to two sofas facing each other but without a direct block of the bay window. You could surely put a small sofa facing the fireplace too in a room of that size I think, but it would depend upon the proportions of all the furniture. I would put the TV above the fireplace (probably a Samsung Frame so you can disguise its telly-ness) so it’s visible from most of the seating options.

Only one diagram is appearing for me, btw.

L shaped sofa along the wall opposite the bay with the end sticking out towards where the door is. Sideboard, cocktail cabinet or small table with a couple of chairs on the wall behind the door. Nice bookshelf or cupboard other side of the door. Armchair in the bay window and TV on the bay window wall below where the bay is or maybe in the corner next to the fireplace depending on how high that window is

If you hate l shaped sofas you could get a small 2 seater for that section instead. Or a couple of armchairs.

I love a good diagram!

I like a massive sofa, so I would place it on the wall opposite the bay window and have a couple of armchairs either side, as FullLondonEye suggests. Maybe a third armchair nearer the fireplace or an ottoman or big pouffe.
It depends on how much TV you watch where I would place that. I would have it unobtrusively in one of the alcoves on one of those adjustable pull out arms, but then I mostly use our big one for snooker and films, and watch things on my iPad
If you use it more often, then above the fireplace is the optimum viewing point but I would certainly buy the Samsung one that looks like a picture, or else disguise it in some way, possibly with a large hinged picture or mirror.
You also have space for something like a desk, sideboard or table on the left of the door and a bookcase on the right. And a massive plant in the bay window.

I can see only one diagram, too.
