I’m redecorating my bathroom and we are trying to decide on what kind of toilet to install, wall hung or floor standing! I prefer the wall hung for aesthetics but I’ve heard about shit just sitting there 🤢
Has anyone had either one of these installed and if so give me your experiences. (Medal for the most boring thread definitely goes to me 🙄)

Wall hung are fine, the issue is the shape of the toilet bowl and the smaller than normal "throat". The easiest way to check is to go and look at some in a showroom to check they see OK before you get one installed. If you go for wall mounted get a really good frame to support it and make sure you can get to the cistern in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks so much @Geneticsbunny.
Most toilet bowls I have seen for wall hung, have a bit of a shelf which I do not want at all.

I don’t like how wall hung look at all but I’m sure plenty do

Well if you've kids who stick wads of paper down, then I'd say floor mounted.

I have both wall hung and floor standing. I've not had any issues with either for a shelf. The better ones are rimless.

We inherited one wall hung toilet when we moved a few months ago, has never been useable and is being ripped out on Tuesday as part of our bathroom renovation. Being replaced with a rimless floor mounted. The day that toilet is gone can’t come soon enough.
