How to brighten up beige bathroom

I'm in rented accommodation and on a limited budget. My bathroom is fairly small with black flooring and beige tiles, walk in shower. I'd like to brighten it up without spending too much. Any suggestions? The only things in there are a narrow wooden drawer unit, on the wall there's a blue abstract picture of the sea and a white framed mirror. Painted walls are white and the shower curtain is white. I've looked at coloured shower curtains but not sure what would go with the beige.

Hi @wherewillwegoto , sounds exactly like our bathroom! Black (sparkly in our case) floor tiles, beige wall tiles, walk in shower and small. Not rental but we've just moved in and have so many other things to do and spend money on we're leaving it as it is, but definitely had to brighten it up.
So we've bought a small washable rug - it was really hard to findthe size we needed which is 100cm squared it's easy to find 120 by 80 but that wouldn't have fit. So that meant it was more expensive but we went for it anyway and it's absolutely gorgeous and transforms the room! And we're putting a shower curtain up too but haven't done that yet. Here's a pic of the rug. Then I'll go dig out a link for the shower curtain.

Pick a colour and use it throughout. So if you picked e.g. sage green do a washable rug, towels, shower curtain and accessories in that colour. Can’t get too busy with colour in a very small room.

Not much tones well with black and beige but a soft blue or green could work.

I do like that shower curtain though! And pattern is best for them or they show every speck.

I'd go for burnt orange accessories along with some plants and hessian / basket styles buts as well.

Sadly the floor isn't even sparkly, that would be a bit brighter at least! It's dull black!

Mine's made worse by the fact it's an over 55 flat with safety glass by the shower.

My towels are currently all teal coloured. I'm struggling to find affordable washable rugs I like.
