Professional painter expectations

We've had painters come in to paint a large bedroom in the loft and there are streaks and blobby bits in places. We normally do the painting ourselves but the one time we got someone in, it was pretty good and not like this. What do you think, the photos were taken in artificial light which is highlighting the flaws.

I’d get them back to fix it. You’re paying for a professional and should get a professional standard.

It depends what you paid them for really (and how much). Painting is the easy bit, preparing the walls is a much longer job.

It was on fresh plaster with a mist coat but they quoted to make good the walls and ceiling and saw it beforehand. I'd pointed out there were a few streaks and they said it wasn't bad and said they'd sand down the walls to remove any streaks and fill any dings.

That is an awful job, if they were supposed to be prepping the wall. If that was going on to fresh plaster I would be very disappointed. They should come and rectify their work
