How to use Alvar Aalto vase for flowers

I have a vase like this (the clear glass one)
https://www.nordicnest.com/brands/iittala/aalto-vase-clear/?variantId=999-01

I feel very bad I've only used it a couple of times in the 20 or so years I've had it and am currently having a bit of a mid century moment in the dining room.

What kind of flowers should I put in it to best effect? All I can see on Google is tulips (great in season) and stuff like one arty solitary stem. Bred of keeping stuff "for best" - I want to use the nice things we have. f you have the same vase, what do you do with it?

Thanks.

Something full, hydrangea or peonies. Use a frog or tape over the top to section it better. Different heights and something trailing

I have long twigs in mine but it's the tall version. I hang glass baubles on them at Christmas.

I'll have to practise! Thanks for the ideas. Just seems a pity that it was in a cupboard in the utility room! Also just got a Georg Jensen candle holder out of its box for the first time - probably been there 8 or 9 years - but that I can work out what to do with by myself!

What's the point in having stuff you love in a cupboard and using just OK stuff every day?
