Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help. I don't live near a paint shop but have spent what feels like a small fortune on grey testers online but none of them are what I'm looking for.

I can only afford the 'basic' dulux / crown / Johnston range etc. I'm looking for a light grey that's a true grey, could be almost silver if you like. I've found a lot of greys can look a bit blue, some can look beige. Dark grey is too dark but would consider a more 'medium' grey if couldnt find what I'm looking for.

Wondered if anyone had found a nice light-ish 'true grey' that wasn't a premium brand.

I'm also struggling as the paint always looks very different online to when the tester comes. If anyone is willing to share pictures of their walls it would be great to see what certain colours actually look like in real life (appreciate lighting etc will make a difference but trying to get an idea).

Thanks for any help (not sure how much longer I can search through grey paint for 😂)!

Have you looked at Dulux Polished Pebble? That is a light true grey that is available off the shelf.

Ok so kitchen (first two pics) are polished pebble, in the second you can see in some lights it has a blue tinge so test it!
bedroom is goosedown - I would say this is a true grey
bathroom is rock salt - true grey but light, it only stands out as grey against white
last pic is chic shadow

To add if I could pick one it would be rock salt as a v pale grey with no blue tones, or goosedown because I just love it

edited to add the pics uploaded in the wrong order but I’m sure you can tell which is a kitchen Grin

Thank you. This is really helpful to see on a wall. The goosedown in the bedroom looks nice! I'll be ordering that tester! And the rock salt looks quite calming....Thank you so very much for your help! It's much appreciated!

We’ve got “Goosedown” on the living room walls, and I would say it’s an absolute true grey.

There are windows at both ends of the room - sun rises at one end and sets at the other end and the grey walls remains grey!
