Attic conversion doors

Hi , I’m in the middle of an attic conversion. Two bedrooms and a landing sitting room in the middle . I need to pick doors and am torn between two . They are both ridged cottage style but one is white and the other like oak . I’m thinking as it’s a dark space white would be good but feel the oak looks more in keeping with my style .
if anyone has either in an attic room or has an opinion, would be appreciated thanks .

We have stained wooden doors throughout our home with a brass doorknob. When we converted the big attic bedroom to a bedroom and an office, I installed the same doors and handles as the rest of the house. I preferred this as it made the rooms feel more connected and the same as the rest of the house. Our house is an old Victorian house and wooden doors just feel right.

The biggest velux windows that the roof can support make a huge difference to the light in attic rooms ( if you are planning to install /change windows).

how exiting for you! my conversion has just been finished and I love it so much. Good luck xx

Well, it all depends on the rest of your house, decor and plans for the space. Photos?

Most attics once converted, are extremely light and airy. Why do you think it would be dark?

If no specific issues, just go with what's in the rest of the house.

It’s 2 bedrooms with a landing in the middle . There is only 1 window in each room . My doors downstairs are old white ones . I painted them a sage green as they were grubby looking white .
I like cottage style look with lots of wood and colour . Just can’t make up my mind on this . The rooms will be painted green with a speckled grey and black carpet . This is the oak door .
Thanks for all replies .

We had to have fire doors fitted when we did a loft conversion, not just in the loft rooms, but the whole house. Might be worth checking out your building regs requirements if the doors you're choosing aren't fire rated.

Those oak doors are very pretty and look fresh/light .
