Hi all, I’ve got some new blackout curtains and they look very crumpled (see pic). They also flare out at the bottom. Will washing help? Don’t want to wash if not as then can’t return :/ Any advice please welcome

The type of curtain rail you have makes them hang more in sections. Because they have creases they don't hang relaxed.

I steamed my curtains. Took a while but they hung lovely after.

I would say washing would help too as it will get rid of the deep creases but 100% check the label first.

Iron them or get a steamer on them.

Get some Lenor crease release spray on them, and then gently iron on the back. Best thing is a steamer if you have one. It's where they've been folded in the pack - could have been in there for months.

Omg, did you buy these from Argos by any chance OP? We bought some that look really similar for my dd1 back in August. I ironed and steamed them and they are still not completely crease free 😬

Dunelm! Not too cheap either. Not sure if the blackout material on the back is even ironable tbh!

I ironed ours on the non-blackout side, but was scared to do it on too high heat in case it went through the fabric!

I used the handheld steam iron as well, which was better but still not perfect.

Will try the Lenor spray suggested by PP now 😉
