How do I get these shelves made and how do they work?

We’re having a very lovely kitchen put in. The kitchen company will do their own installation and the builders we’ve got doing the prep, tiling etc are good but not amazing at finishing details etc, but they are willing and capable.
I really want the shelf in the picture below. I love the curved brackets and how neat and perfect it is with nice rounded edges. Are there people that would make a shelf like this for me and then I just get my builders to install? Also, are is the shelf attached to the wall only along the baton? I think the brackets are just to hold it in place but not screwed to the wall. Is this right?

I remember my Nan having shelves like these and yes, the brackets were screwed to the wall but, hopefully, times have changed because this was when I was a small child, a few decades ago!

I would've expected your kitchen company to be able to do this. We have a handmade kitchen and they took care of everything including bespoke glazing, design and install of glazed sliding pantry doors, etc. It's a bit concerning that you say your builders are not great at finishing details.

Otherwise, you need to find a good joiner who can design, build and install. We've got lots of custom made shelving in our home. Decent ones usually have long waiting lists though.

Thanks. I didn’t ask the kitchen company to make them because my design keeps evolving with little regard for deadlines 😬. Anyway, I think I’ve worked out the construction and I’m going to get one of the builders to make them under strict supervision.
@Karatemayes, they are old school! How nice your Nan had them.
