My carpenter is going to make a bookcase out of mdf and I want it painted. He said Benjamin Moore paint, which is expensive, is very good. Is it really good , compared to Valspar paint?

I've never used Valspar, but have used Benjamin Moore for about 10 years. Huge range of colours and very good coverage. The first time I used it my very experienced decorator hadn't heard of it, but he now recommends it.

Thanks @SchrodingersKitty

Anyone else?

I’ve used it on walls and interior woodwork. It’s absolutely excellent. Really good coverage and fantastic range of colours. My decorator used it for the first time and was blown away at how well it went on and how far it went.

Plus the last delivery I had was dropped at the front door by the courier. The tin leaked and they replaced it immediately even though it wasn’t their fault, so excellent customer service too

I've used Little Greene, Farrow&Ball, Dulux, Zinsser Johnsons & Ben Moore and I'd always go for Ben Moore (or Zinsser, depending on the project) - I love Scruff X too, it's rock hard and easy to use,
