I'm currently redoing the flat, for a number of reasons have decided LVT is the way to go.
Mostly durability and waterproofness, I have 2 dogs that like to dribble their water everywhere, laminate simply wouldn't last and I can't afford engineered wood.
I'm not after fancy herringbone, just natural looking floor, in medium wood tones. Not yellow aka 2000s laminate era, not grey which seems to be everywhere and has aged poorly.
The sub-floor is concrete, in good nick and am hopeful the fitter will just recommend a DPM rather than having to self-level etc.
I'm torn between 2 suppliers, one plank looks very realistic, feels better underfoot and is more what I was going for tone wise. Its 5mm thick, including 1mm attached underlay and a .5mm wear layer.
The other is yellower, but not too yellow, and 8mm thick, including 1mm underlay, and has a .8mm wear layer.
Both have a 20 year residential guarantee. Suppliers have equally good reviews.
Can anyone talk me through this please.
Also, any recommendations for decent fitters in the SE London area would be much appreciated.
