Tell me about LVT

I'm currently redoing the flat, for a number of reasons have decided LVT is the way to go.
Mostly durability and waterproofness, I have 2 dogs that like to dribble their water everywhere, laminate simply wouldn't last and I can't afford engineered wood.
I'm not after fancy herringbone, just natural looking floor, in medium wood tones. Not yellow aka 2000s laminate era, not grey which seems to be everywhere and has aged poorly.
The sub-floor is concrete, in good nick and am hopeful the fitter will just recommend a DPM rather than having to self-level etc.
I'm torn between 2 suppliers, one plank looks very realistic, feels better underfoot and is more what I was going for tone wise. Its 5mm thick, including 1mm attached underlay and a .5mm wear layer.
The other is yellower, but not too yellow, and 8mm thick, including 1mm underlay, and has a .8mm wear layer.
Both have a 20 year residential guarantee. Suppliers have equally good reviews.

Can anyone talk me through this please.

Also, any recommendations for decent fitters in the SE London area would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you are talking about click together lvt. My experience is only with glue down, for which the floor has to be smooth as a baby's bum.
My tips are to stick with the main suppliers, karndean and amtico. Lvt can be prone to UV damage and colour change, so tried and tested big brands will be less problematic.
Second tip, rugs and doormats etc. you need to be careful of the backing, some rubbers and latex will react with the lvt and discolour it. You need lvt flooring safe ones, like turtle mat.

My local installers won’t use clicker LVT as it can cause problems down the line with the joints cracking off.

We’ve got stick down Karndeen (the range with the green tab) and it’s perfect after many years with 3 dogs and 4 cats.

We also had a good latex base put down.
