Blackout my rooms...

I'm moving into a new build in a few weeks. One bedroom is a juliet balcony, the others just wide windows but they have radiators below so can't be floor to ceiling curtains.
I really, really like dark rooms to sleep and my son's are used to it as well. Currently I've a roller blind and then curtains and it works well.

• Juliet doors - one expensive option is the blinds which clip into each door. £300 + curtain and pole.... The other option is to look for a 'blackout curtain pole' and mount it really close to ceiling but touching floor. What about a ceiling curtain track? Any experience of these?
• thinking Roman blinds or cassette blinds and curtains in the other rooms. Again, any experience?

I can’t help much for the Juliet balcony but I have black out perfect fit blinds (the ones that attach to the window frames) with black out Roman blinds and that really blocks out the light. I work shifts and the combination really helps me sleep after nightshift even in the height of summer.

I guess it will be expensive whatever as floor to ceiling. I have standard windows and have ceiling curtain track, def makes a difference- barely a sliver of light. Also can Velcro the outside edge of the curtain so it sticks to the wall. I do this with Roman blinds, it’s even easier with curtains as you never move that edge anyway.

A pelmet would be another option at the top, for curtains.

Thank you both. It is going to be expensive, and I am straight into it is even more expensive to get nicer blinds or curtains...

What about box pelmets? They would stop the light coming in over the top.
