Suggestions for wall colour in ‘moody’ kitchen with Inchyra Blue units

We’ve just ordered a new kitchen in Inchyra Blue. It’s a big room with a lot of windows (most facing west but two facing north, also a pair of glass doors opening into a bright south-facing hall). New extension onto a Victorian house. The floor is oak parquet.

I like a moody feel. Could anyone suggest potential wall colours? I’d contemplated various warm greens, mustard, terracotta — basically I’d like a strong, warm colour.

Normally I’d wait and live with it for a while, but for various reasons this time we need to paint immediately.

Ooh it sounds amazing, how exciting. I’d have said terracotta and mustardy yellows too, although it would depend on the colour of the oak parquet.

Or maybe a red along the lines of F&B Preference Red?

Thank you for all suggestions so far. My preferences lean more towards some kind of gold or warm green, but certainly considering all ideas.

The parquet is following through from another part of the house and is this.

This isn’t warm but it would make a nice bold scheme and the units and walls wouldn’t be competing

😀 I like that, though it might be a bit odd because there is so much window. Though you’ve just reminded me that the main thing I liked about the tv version of Conversations With Friends was Melissa and Nick’s black kitchen.

I did not see it but maybe I need to watch it for interiors inspo 🤔

Hi OP, if you want a moody kitchen then then why not have the wall in the same colour too? Some examples attached.

Hmm. I did find myself considering it last night, but I think I like the idea of a contrast with something that is also a saturated colour, but warmer. It’s so hard to visualise, and as I said, normally I wait and live with a room, but because it’s a new extension, the paint needs to go on the walls before the flooring goes down and the kitchen is installed.
