Garage door paint - help!

Hello all

I have a metal 'up and over' garage door which is metal (of course!) and currently painted pale blue. I need to repaint it because its looking a bit dull. I have no idea what paint I used previously and I'm trying to decide which paint to buy.

The trouble is that I'm looking at the one and two star reviews which, for Hammerite, for example , are scarily bad! And whilst one or two star reviews are always pretty bad, they are putting me off

What paint would you guys suggest I buy?

Try going somewhere like crown or Dulux , they can mix any colour and for any surface interior or exterior ( eg metal,wood etc). Ask for their advice and take it from there would be my advice.

Have you looked at Zinsser Allcoat Exterior Satin? That's the one I keep seeing people recommend (although on, e.g. Screwfix there is still the odd one-star review so maybe that won't help you decide). The other Zinsser paints I've used seem to do their jobs well, for what it's worth.

You can get the Allcoat tinted at specialist paint shops.

Zinsser All Coat - my front door is nearly a decade old and still looks good. Speak to a good trade shop about preparing the surface - you may need to rough up with some sandpaper and clean well.
