I am just revamping my DGS bedroom for when he stays. He currently has gold and black accessories so I am thinking of going for a Jungle theme but not babyish.
He has a white wooden blind and furniture a cream carpet and cream walls.
I will add some plants and green based pics. Which duvet do you think for his single bed. He as a black headboard.
Thanks for any help!

I like the first one with the tigers.

If you go to IKEA you can get some fake leaves to cover a wall or part of a wall. That's what we're putting in DS1's room.

I like two or three - I think it can look a bit “hard” if a room is totally monochrome. Also, I expect your DGS will not be the only person sleeping in there.

Have you asked him what he wants. I wouldn't put plants,he's not going to look after them, they'll probably get knocked over when his friends are round. They change their dad's so quickly. I decided to buy duvets covers, cushions for my dgks when they stay. Dgd was into "friends" dogs "Minecraft", 6 months later, I was told by both ", I don't like them anymore". They're now teens and don't care about the decor.

Thanks for all the input, probably best to have a couple of artificial plants then :)
I don't think he will get bored of it before we are ready to change it because he likes familiarity.
Other people will stay in the room which is why I am avoiding anything too childish.
Still can't decide!

Go for a tropical theme, there's loads about, I went from the gks favourites to tropical, have still got the duvets covers as spares. Walls are white, been changed several times. When they were little the room was pink patchwork paper etc. then their choice. Yes,it's the spare for adults as well...it's now William Morris. They wanted plants, I got cacti, they still Didn't look after them. Have you said how old dgs is?

Truthfully, I think it's fine for an 8 year old boy, but not for adults.. If you want animal theme Dunelm, there are plenty of hares, highland cows, deer, which are lovely and suitable for all ages..

Travelcrazy · 18/09/2025 11:50

@Nannyfannybanny thanks I don't necessarily want animals but will go for something more adult
