Dekton?!

Hello! Looking at units for a new kitchen and wondering about Dekton. I understand it is heat resistant and low stain, which is great, but apparently a bit brittle so it can shatter and it makes a different noise to others.

Has anyone has it and can comment on how it has performed for you? Hoping to have the 20 thickness

@matresense Oooh great post! I’m building a whole house and would like to put Dekton on my kitchen countertops.

I have never heard that it’s brittle so I’d really be interested if anyone has it too.

I’m also looking at dekton Laurent for my worktops, I haven’t heard anything negative

Also considering Dekton as I want to install a Invisacook. So my options are limited to basically Dekton and Neolith (similar product but without the price tag). other than Cosentino despicable customer service, the product has very good reviews.

I have a different brand but have fallen completely in love with ceramic for worktops. I’m a convert. Mine is black so staining not an issue but it is an absolute dream to clean. No issues with chipping which I did have with our previous granite worktop.

We had dekton in our previous kitchen and it was amazing. So easy to clean, no streaks & so resilient. We have quartz in our current kitchen & I hate it. I'd swap it to dekton in a second if I could.
