‘Playroom’ ideas for school age children

Now both children are at school, we wanted to make our ‘playroom’ a bit more grown up for them. Does anyone have any ‘must haves’ or ‘definitely don’t bother withs’? We have a TV in there but no games consoles. We’ve just got rid of an old bogey and slime covered sofa so have more space to play with.

Add huge cushions to replace sofa.

Craft materials and table and chairs

Good-sized desks with space for them to write stories / do stickers / craft, etc.

I've recently turned an old IKEA kids' table (for toddler size, really) into a Lego table by storing all of our lego inside the table (you lift inserts in the table to reveal tubs hanging down), plus by gluing Lego base boards to the tops of those inserts.
