Help with carpet choice for kids bedroom

I’m asking here as I’m really not good with design or putting rooms together & I’m certain many of you are brilliant.

My daughter has chosen a bright cobalt blue for her room (image attached it’s really bold). She has an idea that she’d like something like these rainbow curtains:

https://www.dunelm.com/product/rainbow-ombre-blackout-eyelet-curtains-1000219268?defaultSkuId=30826522&colour=Multicoloured&curtainSize=W+168cm+%2866%22%29+x+D+182cm+%2872%22%29

So firstly while I think the idea of a rainbow in a blue sky is lovely I wonder if curtains need to be a bit bolder with that blue? Secondly what colour carpet would be good with that kind of combination? Whatever we get I think we need an option where we could switch curtains in a while as I suspect teenage her may be less keen on rainbow curtains than 10
year old her.

I really am not good at decor and tend to go primarily for functionality but I want her to have a space that she can be happy to share with her friends. Advice welcome. I hadn’t fully appreciated quite how blue the blue was until it was on as she & her dad described what was wanted to the decorator and he sorted the paint.

Grey carpet and I think you are right about needing a brighter rainbow

Thank you. I’m off to hunt for something not dissimilar to current carpet. It’s grey with a pattern in the way it’s woven vs one in colour and it’s surprisingly good at not showing up spills

Might these curtains be better?

Personally, I'd not go grey, but would go greige or beige for the carpet

Those are nice. I’ll definitely show her them as an alternative :)

Depending on the age think about how long before she hits teenage years and you have foundation/various make-up/fake tan etc. all over the carpet… our teens both have laminate with rugs as the carpet in our last house was absolutely trashed when we moved out ages 13&15!

I did think about getting the floorboards done and a rug but it’s an old Victorian terrace and she’s above the living room so I’m conscious how noisy it may get without a carpet/underlay. Definitely a lot easier to clean a hard floor though. We are all tile/floorboards downstairs. The kids have their own bathroom so maybe we can manage to keep cosmetics in there 🤞

The curtains @DongDingBellhas posted are much better for the strong blue she has chosen. I’d also go for a beige carpet.
