Hello all, can someone tell me what kind of curtain rail this is and therefore what type of curtain i need to buy? It's in a house we are moving to and the curtains are going so I need to order new ones but cant get into the house yet to have a proper look. Thank you 😊

Not sure about the name of the type of rail but I assume whatever it is, it will take any curtains with normal curtain hooks on. So pencil pleat or any of the made to measure ones with fancy pleats.

So it looks like a track rail, which has gliders that you hook the curtains to. You need curtains which have heading tape. e.g. Ikea Sanela, Dunelm pencil pleat.

Hopefully whoever moves out will leave the gliders in the track and you’ll only need to buy curtains and curtain hooks. Not that gliders are expensive but you need the right size.

There are lots of kinds of curtain hooks, depending if you want pleats or not, how heavy the curtain fabric is and so on

(Should point out that I am far from being a curtain expert - commenting because I recently put up a curtain track with gliders so I could hang my curtains differently.)

Hope your move goes well!

It's really hard to see in the photo whether the tracks are coming down out of the ceiling, or are attached to the wall.

As PP said, you'll be fine to bring whichever curtains you already have, and get the right attachments for them when you move in. The previous residents might even leave them in place for you to put your own curtains onto.

The only thing which might cause an issue is if you have curtains with big metal rings already set into them.

Where are you planning to buy new curtains?

I would send this photo over to them to find out what they suggest.
