Hello all ! I need a single wardrobe that does everything! In my son's room there is no room for drawers - just a single wardrobe :( I know Ikea is probably popular but has anyone personally purchased a wardrobe which does some real 'heavy lifting' when it come to storage?? Pants/socks need a place as well as the stuff to be hung up! Please help - we need to get organised - many thanks :)

Yes the IKEA pax system is really good, measure the space and then go in and speak to someone who will use the planner for you. They do a shallow depth wardrobe which is good for small rooms, it can go really tall too so great for teenagers! Good luck

Agree with Pax, all the interior fittings are brilliant especially the frame dividers so you can divide up the space further.

Can you fit any storage under his bed? Raised bed with drawers could be well worth it?

Get a high sleeper with a wardrobe underneath?

Oooh going into speak to someone is a good idea - can take the DS with me - do you have to book an appointment ? It's been years since I've been to IKEA

Also look at IKEA Platsa, my son has a long narrow room with low ceilings, got a Platsa with mirrored doors, a rail, 3 huge basket drawers and a high shelf inside above the rail, and space on top of the wardrobe. He can get loads in it. This was basically one that IKEA had already designed, we just had to put the design code into the website to order. Try searching for code Pcjb68, I think that is the IKEA code, but not sure if that is my saved code or a generic one.

This isn't to everyone's taste, but my son has drawers with a wall mounted rail over the top and a shelf over that. He has 4ft of hanging space.

You can see his hung up clothes as no doors.

Its been very space efficient, and cheap.

Yes actually I prefer Platsa to Pax if you want a split of hanging and drawers. Because Platsa allows you to have drawer fronts below and a door above, whereas with Pax you have to have internal drawers so need to open the wardrobe to access the drawers.
