Outdoor light with power switch- not security

Can anyone please recommend a outdoor light (I am willing to pay an electrician to fit if that makes a difference) that I can switch on and is pleasant to have as a light for eating dinner.

The nights are drawing in but are still so warm, I finish work at 9pm so dinner is at 9.45 and I don't want to eat in the dark.

I lit a candle tonight but it wasn't enough.

We've got an outdoor light that is switched but is still a floodlight and throws deep shadows because of it's position on the wall so not much use for eating by. I don't like solar lighting bceause it stays on all night so is bad for wildlife. So for dining use we've got a USB table lamp which is small and portable and does the job nicely, just take it out with us and put it on charge indoors again. There are loads of wall lights etc in b&q type places which aren’t security lights! We have some from lights.co.uk and we have a switch inside for them. Will obs need electrician to do a lot of work if you don’t have a connection now. Think they can run it from a power socket on inside.

@bestbefore thanks I'm going to have a proper look as I think wall lights will be good in the long run.

We have the rectangle ones with a small frame round them and as the patio is near the house we def get illuminated quite easily. My mum and dad have sensor wallpaper lights which are v good for porches etc. also if you are having work done get an outside plug if you don’t have one as useful for garden tools etc!

I received my lights as recommended by @ExponentialDelivery and they are great. I'm just about to eat dinner outside and can see my food, but they are not bright enough to entice moths.

I have booked an electrician as I do want more for the future.

Sky is beautiful and clear but massive storm clouds are on the horizon. Hope to finish dinner before they arrive.

So the rain stayed away and I am still outside - lights are still running on the charge they came with.

I have sat out every night since I received these lights and they have been excellent and I would really recommend.

Just updating as I'm about to post another item request/question so wanted to come back and further update this post. Favourite thing I have purchased for years

Brilliant, thanks for the update. It's getting dark earlier and earlier but still nice to be outside in the evenings.
