Hello! Can anyone help me.work out if some fabric i have found is big enough for curtains please?
I have attached hed rhe fabric photo with the measurements

I need 4 panels of 50inch wide and 82 inch long.

But not sure if the way this fabric measures it would be possible.... I don't know anything about curtains making!

Thank you

The measurements haven’t come up.

basically you will need enough fabric to make a panel; I’d use at least one and a half times the width to create a nice drape; then enough for hemming the sides (2-3 inches each side?) and the header and bottom hem. Be over generous rather than under generous.

what kind of header are you planning?

Also I really struggle with inches. cms are so much easier for fabrics

It might have helped if I put the measurements!

Ilthe reason im not sure is because its really long so I don't doubt its enough fabric but the width is short and because of the pattern im not sure if it would work.

And thank you @WutheringBites

If your curtains were going to be completely flat covering each window it would be enough because you need about 2.2m per curtain. The width of the fabric is enough for a small hem either side. However as suggested you need 1.5 or even twice the width to give some fullness. Added to that there is a repeat pattern which will need matching if you were going to join the fabric widths. You’d need about 13.2 metres - without pattern matching. So this isn’t enough, unless they were completely flat when pulled.

Are you saying that you have 1 piece of fabric that is 137cm wide and 10 metres long. If this is correct you don’t have enough. You need each panel to be 1.5 times your base measurement plus 4 inches per width seam/edging allowance. You need a minimum of 4 inches top and bottom per panel. You also have to take into account the pattern match so you set the match from the first panel and then you add on to the width/length the appropriate pattern match so you loose 3 times the pattern match per panel if having 4 panels.
