Bay window ideas

Just that really. Sitting room of new house has a bay window. The sofa will be other end of the room along with table and tv as limited to which wall we can hang the tv. The end of the room which has the window will have a sofa on one wall and a book case opposite. What can I fill the window space with. It will have blinds and heavy curtains. I'm thinking maybe a large floor plant and something else? Just so it doesn't look bare. All ideas gratefully received.

No radiator there? If not I'd put a window seat or small chair, and a tiny table, perfect reading and cuppa nook.

Thank you. Both lovely ideas. I think maybe a window seat with storage may be a good choice as there's not a huge amount of storage in there. No loft or under stairs junk cupboard. But can I live with a reading nook. I'm not so sure

Mine actually has a gateleg table in it. I love doing jigsaws when I have time, and especially at Christmas. It's my jigsaw spot as it's got great light. Table is folded down when I don't have one on the go. We occasionally use the table for dinner too if we want to watch TV whilst eating. The chairs live in another room so I just bring one or two through when needed.

Sounds lovely. Of course I meant can I live with a reading nook. And to clarify I'm happy to say there's no radiator there.

We've got a massive plant in our bay window and table with a lamp. The other bay has a table and it's where I work from home, there's a nice view of the front garden.

Thank you. It's an option to put a table in. My partner will have an office upstairs but it would be nice for me to have a space to do admin and study from.

I have an empty bay window too. My fantasy would have a baby grand piano in the bay window. Sadly I'm not v musical, nor particularly rich 😔. So I'm lurking for ideas.

I have a window seat. Storage and seating!
