Garage ceiling soffits

A specialist is coming to look at my garage ceiling soffits next week as we now think they contain asbestos although it looks like wood.

My partner attached some wooden boards to a couple of them with screws to store things then later removed them.

I'm just wondering about the risks? Obviously, a greater risk to him screwing but worried about the kids who have accessed the garage.

Any thoughts?

Asbestos in garages usually comes in the form of wriggly roofing panels. Those are just normal timber joists. There maybe asbestos in the roofing material above but from the photo impossible to tell.

It turned out the asbestos was in the floor cement not the roof. There was a bit of a mix-up with who I spoke to. Thanks, anyway. The floor was really dusty when we moved in 5 years ago so my partner ended up painting it. Not sure how much risk clearing up the dust would have been. I know the fibres are usually well bound in the cement but it is quite old. Getting it sorted finally anyway.
