Does anyone know what the white stuff is? I'm assuming it's not asbestos? It looked like this when I moved in

Looks like broken edges of plasterboard to me. Assuming you are in the UK, gyprok if you are in the us or aus.
No reason for asbestos to be present in your walls. What age is the house?

1950-1966 sort of time I think. Yes, thanks. Didn't think it could be asbestos. I'm in the UK

Well, some older plasterboard could contain asbestos and the house is the right age for it, but that plumbing doesn't look that old so I think it depends on how old you think this is.

I think the plumbing was done before we moved in in 2019 so hopefully ok. Thanks
