What colours to brighten hallway?

Hi everyone, we are decorating our flat and hallway has been done first.

I would like a runner and I’m thinking of going colourful to bring it to life a little bit? Also thinking of getting a bright print to put near the front door (can’t see in the photo).

Do I go with a colourful runner or stay neutral?

I’ve always had neutral decor but I’m bored of white/cream/grey/beige!

I wouldn’t put a runner on that lovely floor. Looks just great as it is.

Maybe change the beige cushions for some brightly coloured ones

I would put some bigger, brighter coloured objects on the Kallax unit holes at the end of the hallway

Everyone’s personal style is different. I’d put a kilim runner down and pick a colour from that to paint the end wall behind the bench and add a few cushions - kilim ones mixed with plain.
That might not be your kind of thing at all though. It’s a nice hall, I think you just need to introduce a bit of colour, pattern and texture to give it a bit more interest.

Ah, it looks so fresh and clean, and I love the Kallax nook. It’s great decor for picking pretty much any runner you take a liking to in my opinion.

Do you remember what colour you’ve got on your walls? My cream paint tones very slightly green downstairs and I’m interested in alternatives

@Offcom thank you! Just got hooks to add to the back wall for coats! It’s Farrow & Ball Dimity but we had the sample mixed up at Johnstones 😊

Yes, this. (Looks at her hall kilim runner.)

I think it would be ok if you swapped the floor for a warmer colour
