Gap between quartz upstand and wall

We have got quartz worktops and upstands fitted in our new kitchen. I would expect some small gaps (2-3mm) between the upstand and wall as walls are never perfectly flat, but on one wall I feel the gap is too big, probably about 6-7mm. Does these seem too big? Will it look OK if filled with decorators caulk? Anyone have experience of this? The fitters are back this week to do the utility so I will raise it with them.

I wouldn't be happy with that. It's too big. If walls are out, it should've been accounted for. Text builder so it's documented.

The thing is upstands are perfectly straight, so if the walls are out by 6-7 mm then your only choice really is to fill it. Not sure what other solution there could be.

I'm surprised that wasn't accounted for when they made the template. One of our walls was that far out, and with careful templating and I seem to remember quite a lot of swearing during fitting, you'd never have known.

That looks absolutely shocking - I’d be having the fitters back to put it right. As others said, should have been accurately templated before fitting.
