Soundproofing? Does it work?

I have recently had some noisy neighbours move in, 4 kids who run round at 9/10pm at night.
i have a 6 month old baby and complained numerous time about the banging screaming etc.
Still nothing has changed.
Has anyone had soundproofing done to their walls and does it work?

It depends on if the joists run between both homes. If they do, sound travels through them, not just the walls, so it was a waste of time (&money!) in our case. We moved.
It was around 12 years ago though so maybe methods have improved?

wondering same @jsep dont think many people on mnet have paid for it most people try to move to detached instead but i cant afford it
