Has anyone had success with this? DD is moving into a flat and the bathroom is very dated. Before we research retiling is it worth spending £100 or so on paint?

How about microcement? https://relentlessmicrocement.com/diy-microcement-kit-for-100-waterproof-bathroom-walls/

More expensive than repainting but still much cheaper than retiling and looks really good

Is she buying or renting? My advice would be different for each!

Good question! Buying.
I think it’s fine, but she’s taken against it, the picture is a stock one and pretty accurate.

I must be old. I really like those tiles. I think the sink unit dates it if anything.

Oh I agree! Can’t see anything wrong with it- it’s a stock photo but pretty accurate.

I used Rustoleum tile paint to change manky old bathroom tiles from brown to white as a temporary fix. It worked a treat and a year on, has been pretty bombproof.

The only advice I would give is to make sure the tiles are 100% scrubbed and sugar soaped, or the paint won’t stick properly and you will need to re-do that bit.

That bathroom is quite nice! Ain't broke, don't fix!

Gosh that is much more modern than mine!

It looks fine for just now.

By the time she puts her stuff and towels etc in it she won’t hate it as much.

It really isn’t worth spending money on tile paint surely? It’s not that bad?! It was a popular look only a few years ago. Give it a month and see if she still hates it as much!
