Any recommendations for magazines/insta etc? House was built in a sort of cottage style - bedrooms have sloping ceilings and a big brick fireplace with woodburner. Thinking of adding panelling in hall and poss some other rooms. Thank you.

How exciting, congratulations!

How about Terence Conran?

I probably spend too much time looking at AA Gill’s flat from 1997 - but there’s a lot to look at

Thank you! Love all the colours in AA Gills place! I’ll take a look at Conran’s book - but is it actual 90s design? Or have i misunderstood ? I want to get away from that

You could go for a restrained New England look if you have the base of a cottage style or perhaps a laidback Country Living look.

Lots of inspo on houseandgarden.co.uk
What furniture do you have or plan to get. What is your style and taste. Budget?

My go to for interior ideas is Pinterest. Lots of magazines on there too. Try some of the Dutch and Scandi mags.

thank you. The back of the house has an open aspect across fields and the front is treelined and very private. I definitely lean towards a more country feel but not twee! We will be changing our tan leather sofas for fabric (no sticky fingered kids anymore!). Forgot about Pinterest!

Oh, I misunderstood! I thought you meant you’d bought a 1990s property and wanted to get some inspo for how to … honour? the period. Don’t get Terence Conran’s book OR copy AA Gill. Or watch any old Changing Rooms!
