CD tray storage solution tips please

I have just decorated and replaced all the furniture in my dining room. Being of a certain age, DH and I have a lot of CDs which we don't want to dispose of. I have an ikea unit that they can all fit in which is a low cupboard (The Besta for the Ikea geeks amongst you!)
I'm after some kind of trays that are not wide in themselves but can hold the CDs so i can slide out an entire shelf of CDs to view. At the moment I have several lidded baskets which are not very practical. The sides of the basket are quite thick and take up valuable room. It's almost as if I'm after some flat boards with a 1 inch high lip kind of thing - almost like a large lid!
Has anyone any solutions or lateral thinking kind of ideas of something I could craft myself.
Me and DH are not good at woodwork or building anything from scratch though!

You know the ikea drawer dividers you get in a set?
Well the long ones ( and smaller ones same size) are perfect size for CD's . I have put all mine in and fit in my sideboard perfectly.( l had to buy a few packs)

They fit into them all some side by side.
But look and fit great in the ones I've circled.
They fit absolutely perfect. See my photos.
I've got hundreds of CD's .. l find these perfect.
