DS says his bed is like a prison bed - can I somehow attach a headboard ??

He has a very simple metal framed bed (double) that has a small footprint which. Is why we chose it. He hates the fact there's no headboard. Has anyone attached something to make a headboard on such a frame or got any genius ideas please ?

Attach a headboard to the wall, instead of the bed.

Really easy to make a headboard with battens, foam and fabric. Bit if you’re not handy you can buy them ready made. We got one for a guest bedroom from Wayfair and I think it was only £50 or so.

Tell him if he was in prison he'd only get a single bed.

Also you could add a valance (a plain one, not a frilly one!), then the metal frame wouldn't show.

I attached the head boar to the wall in SD box room, it meant the bed could go under the window instead of length ways.

I've got a headboard, but I added on a long wedge bed cushion a while back. It's so much better than the original headboard. It's brilliant for relaxing in bed with a book.

Thanks all ☺️. I'll have a look at cushions. The problem is it's got a bed head but it's metal and he doesn't like leaning against it so I'm not sure if I could hand something above it and it work as the frame would be in the way ...pic attached

If you look up headboard cushion, there are some you can tie on, or ones that just sit on the bed.

IKEA had a tie on headboard cushion. Or I saw Stacey Solomon get those seat cushions with ties and attach that as a mite comfortable headboard. Three or four across. Looked alright tbf.
