Sofa-did you go for leather again?

We have had a leather sofa for ages (20+ years) and it was excellent when the kids were young but it's knackered and needs replacing. We've been looking and there is very little that I actually like, so choice is pretty limited to begin with (I want squarish arms and blocky feet and a proper back and I don't like the really fat chunky seats that a lot of them seem to have) but there seems to be not much that's actually leather and it seems to be more of a '100% leather but with a suede nap' which looks lovely but the lady in the shop says you can't ever wipe with a wet cloth?!

The advantage of leather (I thought) was that it was wipe clean. If it's not, it seems an odd choice of fabric. She said you have to treat it with their special solution 4 times a year (!) and it would simply repel any food or drink but is that actually true?!

Should I persevere and find some actual wipe clean leather or go for fabric?!

I swapped to fabric. I clean it with a carpet cleaner extention once a year - some are washable.

Its less sweaty than leather.

Bit it’s your sofa. Why not try some out?

We had a leather sofa for 10 years mainly because of young children. When we moved house and got a new sofa we opted for a fabric and its cream!! Children are older so no messes like with little ones.

We’ve got leather sofas had a new ones a year ago ours are from G.plan bought from an independent company. We opted for leather again and I don’t regret it.
