I’d like an electric roller blind for our living room that can be controlled by an app and set to go up and down at different times. Does anyone have recommendations of where to get these from?

blinds2go have sent me an email about these today - I’ve had other stuff from there which have been fine, just need to measure the window now 😀

We've been around this loop several times! Nearly every shop both online and in person will sell battery operated ones. They have a remote, so might be all you need. They assure me they are long lasting and are re-chargeable- but I don't want battery ones!

DH found a company online which sell ones which are wired in. We are renovating, so suits us fine. He is a bit of a techy and these can connect to the home assist system we already have in place. We had a company around recently and their electric version was somfy (spelling might be wrong). BUT, it required a different server to what we already have. Using home assist, I can change lights, curtains, etc via the phone, online app or the remote.

We have Blinds2go electric blinds as well as another brand from a local supplier. Blinds2Go app isn't great, you have to continually change the times as the days get longer and shorter throughout the year and have to be stood practically next to the blind to change schedules. The local supplier uses the connector app (widely used app) which is much more flexible, it allows you to set the blinds to open and close a chosen amount of time after sunset/sunrise (i.e. 10 minutes after sunset) as well as allowing you to choose your own schedule. We chose to have a hub/bridge with the locally supplied blinds and that allows you to open/close/change schedules from your phone when you aren't at home. Great if you are on a long holiday or for instance when you are out and it is really sunny you can close the blinds and keep the house cool (we have 6m wide sliders)
